Mississauga Hosts an Unforgettable Ski Spectacle

This past weekend, Mississauga, Ontario, played host to one of the most exciting urban skiing and snowboarding events in recent memory. Put together by Apik and presented by Samsung Canada, the event brought an electrifying energy to the city, blending high-level freeskiing and snowboarding with an unreal community atmosphere.

Apik is quickly changing the game when it comes to urban skiing, and this event was another huge step in that direction. The setup transformed a downtown space into a shred shrine, creating the perfect stage for some of the biggest names in the sport to throw down.

The roster was stacked, featuring freeski legends Tom Wallisch and Megan Oldham, both of whom put on an absolute clinic for the crowd. But, in a surprise twist, neither of them took home the top prize. Instead, Jackson Karsteter claimed victory in the men’s division, while Taylor Brooke Lundquist secured the number one spot in the women’s division. Each walked away with a cool $10,000—a pretty solid payday, to say the least.

Beyond the battle for the podium, the event had a community-driven feel that made it truly special. Skiers, snowboarders, and fans of all levels came together to celebrate what makes this sport so incredible: creativity, style, and the unbreakable bond of the snowsports community. Whether you were a hardcore skier or just someone who wanted to see what all the hype was about, there was something for everyone this past weekend in Mississauga.

Backing the event were some of the biggest brands in the ski world, including Line Skis, Corbetts, and New Schoolers, proving just how much weight Apik is pulling in the industry. With events like this, they’re not just pushing the sport forward—they’re making skiing more accessible, more exciting, and just plain cool. And honestly, who wouldn’t want to be part of that?
