Skier Suffers Brutal Crash at Tuckerman Ravine (NH)

East Coast skiing doesn’t always get the respect it deserves, but let this clip from Tuckerman Ravine, New Hampshire, serve as proof that the terrain can still dish out absolute carnage. What was supposed to be a clean, send-it-and-stomp-it moment quickly turned into one of the most gnarly wipeouts I’ve ever seen—like, straight-up Mission Impossible stunt-level chaos.

Tuckerman Ravine, New Hampshire. Boston Globe.

It all started with a skier lining up a cliff drop, fully committed and ready to put down something big. But the ski gods clearly had other plans. Instead of a sick stomp, our guy got sent into the next dimension, missing the landing and instantly entering full ragdoll mode. And when I say ragdoll, he went cartwheeling down the mountain like a crash test dummy. Skis? Gone. Poles? See ya.

For a solid few seconds, it was just limbs flailing, body bouncing, and gravity doing its absolute worst. It looked like something out of an action movie—except instead of Tom Cruise rolling down a cliff and somehow landing on his feet, we got a skier absolutely getting worked by the mountain.

Then, in a moment that can only be described as both impressive and concerning, the guy popped right up. Like, just stood up as if he didn’t just yard sale his way into the wipeout hall of fame. But let’s be real—he wasn’t totally fine. You could see the pure shock in his body language, the kind of moment where your brain hasn’t fully processed that you just survived something ridiculous.

Thankfully, word got out that he actually walked away in good health—probably with some harsh bruises, maybe a brief moment of deep reflection on his life choices, but otherwise good to go. This guy is a savage, to say the least. And let’s be honest, he now has an absolutely wild story to tell for the rest of his life.

The lesson here? No matter how good you are, the mountain will humble you. The backcountry especially doesn’t play around, and if you’re sending cliffs, make sure you know what you’re in for. Or, at the very least, be prepared to become a viral clip.
