Joe Rogan Fractured His Leg The Last Time He Went Skiing

The Joe Rogan Experience.

Joe Rogan is one of the most versatile figures out there. From hosting Fear Factor to calling UFC fights to running The Joe Rogan Experience, the guy has seemingly done it all. But no matter how successful or physically capable you are, life always has a way of humbling you—sometimes in the form of an unexpected tumble down a ski slope.

On episode #2242 of The Joe Rogan Experience, featuring Bert Sorin, Rogan recounted a brutal skiing injury that left him questioning whether he’d ever hit the slopes again. While Rogan is no stranger to physically demanding activities—holding black belts in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo—he quickly learned that mountains play by their own rules.

The conditions were seemingly ideal, and Rogan was enjoying a smooth run down the mountain when an inexperienced skier—let’s call her a classic “Jerry”—veered unpredictably into his path. In an effort to avoid what could have been a disastrous collision, Rogan instinctively shifted his weight to dodge her. Unfortunately, his quick reaction only led to an even bigger problem.

Thrown off balance, Rogan lost control and took a hard fall, hitting the snow with enough force to cause an “insufficiency fracture,” a painful bone injury. In the aftermath, he had to come to terms with an unfortunate reality: maybe skiing wasn’t his thing after all.

Following the wipeout, Rogan admitted that his skiing days might be officially behind him. While he’s spent decades pushing his body to its limits—whether in martial arts, hunting, or hardcore fitness—this particular experience seemed to seal the deal. “The last and final time I ever skied,” he stated, signaling that his brief affair with the slopes had officially come to an end.

The takeaway? Even the toughest guys aren’t immune to the unpredictability of the mountain. And while Rogan may have tapped out of skiing, his story serves as a solid reminder to stay alert on the slopes—because you never know when a rogue Jerry might send you into an involuntary gymnastics routine.
